More about the species
Description
Captured specimens were from the swamps or the tidal parts of rivers. It therefore inhabits the same environment as Trachelyopterus galeatus with which it could establish a mimetic association. Confusion due to this similarity, as well as difficulty in net-fishing of this fish (due to its small size, absence of spines) can explain its apparent rarity.
